A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder

by Holly Jackson

The Story

Five years ago, there was a mysterious murder in Little Kilton. Sal Singh killed Andie Bell. Andie’s body was never recovered and as soon as Sal was found dead, supposedly after committing suicide, the case was closed. However, Pip Fitz-Amboi is not so sure about the police’s strategy, suspecting that they have jumped to conclusions. Choosing to try to crack the case, Pip studies this strange murder for her EPQ and soon discovers something sinister. Pip meets Sal’s younger brother, Ravi, who also has a hunch that Sal was innocent. Can the duo solve the crime before the murderer decides to strike again? Can Pip and Ravi figure out the puzzling plot or will it be too late? The murderer desperately wants to stay hidden and will do whatever it takes…

My Thoughts

This may be quite a big statement, but I truly believe that this is the best book ever! I love the ambition of Pip and Ravi as they delve deeper into the past and the many gripping turns in the plot. My favourite character is Victor, Pip’s step dad, who is funny (I mean seriously hilarious) and supportive. The story teaches you not to judge someone because of their family and that nothing can be kept secret forever.
