Dead Time

by Anne Cassidy

The Story

Rose’s mother has been gone for five years. Joshua’s father has been gone for five years too.  Rose’s mother, Kathy and Joshua’s father, Brendan went out for dinner at the Tuscan Moon and disappeared. Now, at the age of seventeen, Rose lives with her grandmother Anna and has not seen Joshua for five years since he went to live with his uncle in Newcastle.  At Rose’s Sixth Form college, there has been a murder. Ricky Harris is dead and Emma Burke is at risk of being the next victim. Meanwhile, Joshua has discovered the next movements of his father and Rose’s mother after they left the Tuscan Moon. There are also some mysterious notebooks which may have a bearing.

My Thoughts

This book is the first of four books in the series and as a result, after finishing Dead Time, you still do not know what happened to Rose and Joshua’s parents which I found slightly odd. Also, I felt as though having two mysteries in one book was confusing but the book certainly was exciting in most respects. My favourite character was Joshua, for his perseverance in trying to find out what happened to Kathy and Brendan.
