Kat Wolfe Investigates

by Lauren St John

The Story

The beautiful Dorset seaside town of Bluebell Bay has won the safest village award nine times out of ten, making it the perfect place for Kat Wolfe and her veterinary obsessed mother to move to for a peaceful life, after experiencing the chaotic bustle of London.

Whilst her mother is busy in her new veterinary practice, Kat is keen to earn some pocket money, so takes up pet sitting under the brand Paws and Claws.

Bailey, the parrot, belongs to Ramon Corazón, who has vanished leaving his special security door unlocked and his luggage scattered across the floor.

Toby, the golden retriever, is owned by Edith, whose son Reg is trying to persuade her to sell her house so that he can profit.

Charming Outlaw is owned by Harper, who has broken her leg after being thrown by this malicious mare.

Does Bluebell Bay really deserve its status of safest village or is there something sinister lurking beneath its friendly surface? Will Kat’s own pet Tiny, the leopard, save her skin?

My Thoughts

A dark undercurrent runs through this novel and I was gripped throughout. This story is perfect for animal lovers and those who enjoy detective stories. I liked the various characters’ different personalities, the many dilemmas and the suspense as Kat tries to solve them.
