The Story

Meet:

Dusty Muleman, owner of the gambling boat The Coral Queen which is permanently moored in a marina in Florida and illegally discharging sewage into the water;

Paine Underwood, Noah’s dad, in prison for trying to sink The Coral Queen in protest at the pollution;

Miles Umlatt, reporter, trying to get juicy facts about the incident;

Lice Peeking, a terrible lawyer who is only interested in getting paid fat fees;

Shelley, bar tender on The Coral Queen and Lice’s girlfriend, who is flushing 17 bottles of fuchsia food colouring down the loo on board to expose Dusty’s dastardly dealings;

Luno, Dusty’s gun wielding henchman, who will stop at nothing to protect his boss and keep his job;

Abbey, Noah’s sister, daredevil, in desperate pursuit of the truth;

and finally, the hero, Noah, who is going to sort the whole disaster out, whatever the danger.

Goodie or baddie, these guys don’t have much time to reveal or conceal the truth. Will Abbey and Noah catch Dusty red handed? Or fuchsia handed to be exact…

My Thoughts

This book made me laugh out loud. It is a crazy rollercoaster of thrills and spills. I loved the riot of colourful characters and their mad exploits. And underlying it all, the book’s theme of conserving the environment is very important to me. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who is in need of a bit of fun to brighten up their day.
